speed up fps - sianic - 11-26-2012 hi! im having a verylow fps :-( wondering h ow to tweak it to have a better fps result any suggestion would really appreciate guys :-) thanks in advance RE: speed up fps - Zekro - 11-26-2012 Play with the video options, use the shaders options.Enable ge and enable ge saving to... are also good options RE: speed up fps - BlackDaemon - 11-26-2012 virgil94, after looking his posts unfortunately i would say, that problem in his case - weak hardware. ![]() I see a few ways: - replace graphics card to something more powerful - GeForce 6600GT/Radeon HD3xxx, and overclock CPU. (not best solution, really) ------------------------------ - replace motherboard (same socket, probably S775 with PCI-e slot) and get PCI-e graphics card, at least with performance ~GeForce 8600GT/Radeon HD4650, and overclock CPU. (a bit better, but still doubtful) ------------------------------ - (also, used hardware) replace CPU/Motherboard/Graphics card (and probably RAM and PSU) for case with Intel (S775) - at least Q6600 or E8400 CPU, some motherboard on P35 chiset for case with AMD (AM3) - at least Phenom II X4 945 CPU, some motherboard on 760G chipset graphics card up to ~GeForce 260GTX/Radeon HD4890 performance (modern replacement probably is ~GeForce GTX550/Radeon HD7750) PSU with "honest" 450-500 watts, and overclock CPU. (this one could be cheap with good performance boost) ------------------------------ - (newer hardware) replace CPU/Motherboard/RAM/Graphics card/PSU Intel (S1155) - at least i5-2500k/i5-3570k, some motherboard on Z77 chipset at least 2x2Gb DDR3-1333 RAM graphics card - at least ~GeForce 560Ti/Radeon HD6950 PSU with "honest" 550-600 watts, (and overclock CPU for more performance). (serious performance boost, but it's not very cheap - ~200+$ for CPU, ~100+$ for motherboard, ~200+$ for graphics card, up to ~100$ for PSU) RE: speed up fps - serio - 11-26-2012 Quote:GeForce 6600GTthey aren't even selling those anymore, and even if they did, it only supports opengl 2.0. doesn't support 2.1, which is required by jpcsp as far as i remember. few years ago i had a lot of trouble finding a 9500gt (managed to find one of the last ones they had in stock, and the guy told me they won't be getting anymore of those since they're ancient and long out of production) which is much better than that, so by now they're probably all out of stock, and won't be possible to find outside of some antiquated used computers or used/spare parts. RE: speed up fps - BlackDaemon - 11-26-2012 serio, Of course it's long ago out of production, i just mentioned it as possible (but useless, especially with AGP interface) solution. ![]() ![]() Edit: btw, GeForce 6600 works with Jpcsp. ![]() RE: speed up fps - serio - 11-26-2012 yeah, but i doubt it'll speed the game much, if at all, which is this topic's title. lol if he really wants speed, he'll have to upgrade his whole pc, i doubt he'll get anything close to playable speed from a pc that still uses agp. RE: speed up fps - Zekro - 11-26-2012 Blackdaemon:I didn't see that post so I had no idea.Anyway I'm not really good in knowing wich graphic card is better.Hmmm so if ge force 6600 is rare, then the 4 series is even worse,I just saw it on shops like a week ago O_O RE: speed up fps - montcer9012 - 11-26-2012 Rare hardware isn't difficult to found if you know where to find. On my country for example, banks and lotto post are buying/selling this kind of stuff since they work with it. However, the big deal to sianic is how much he want to spend; last week i see an A10-4600 Laptop (Radeon 7660), 6GB RAM and 650GB HDD on less than 470 US$!! That's a very nice price!! The only problem is the poor limitation on OpenGL with the Radeon video card; however, for DirectX games that machine will do a great job! RE: speed up fps - sianic - 11-27-2012 thanks guys..guess i need to replace my graphix card but i tweaked the video options and it gave me some improvements though not much.. buying a new graphix would be much better i guess :-) replace everything would be much better :-) but just in case, this is what my machine has... ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 11/27/2012, 15:13:04 Machine name: nono Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120305-1505) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
