no, is not debug font. you're right option non-native font not there. only available are debug font.
look in Settings.properties edit with notepad and find line:
emu.useFlashFonts=1
if 0 change to 1 for enable.

You don't need to use non native fonts,it is set in the newer jpcsp to be always activated the option that had the non native font name.The debug font is like using the old jpcsp but you don't select the non native fonts options

Yeah I unchecked that option too. still no text.

I am curious to this problem, why during in game events like this one, sound cuts out and resumes after the event ends???

Most likely because the sounds are in Atrac3+ format,jpcsp doesn't have that codec implemented

to see text in this game you either need to check the "stencil test" (sometimes incompatible with save ge to texture) or the "color mask" option.

Edit: Thanks hyakki that worked, unchecked save ge to texture and checked color mask and worked perfectly! Stencil causes the screen to be squished. Color mask makes it perfect.
Edit2: once I restarted the emulator the text seem to have disappeared again. it was nice while lasted XD
