First, I want to note that I'm a Patron supporter and avid user for several months (arcade games). I also have 1 of like 5 disc drives out there that let's me simply pop in pc and copy PS3 disc content (did not even know before purchase!!). See screenshot. I also searched on the forums and online but simply could not find an answer to my question:
Do I simply need a decrypted eboot.bin to play? It sounds like I go to "Boot Game" > point to disc folder and if the eboot.bin is fixed/decrypted, it'll start. Is that correct? If so, how the heck do I decrypt this (since rpcsx3 doesn't currently do this)?
aakh1361, he is not asking how to play games, he is asking how to run them from real encrypted PS3 discs, and this can't be done directly. However one can rip and decrypt the disk from a computer BD drive, see quickstart guide for how to do it: https://rpcs3.net/quickstart

You can easily find IRD file packs with a couple of google searches.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a backup website, but you can still find the IRD files around the web.
