Which SonicStage?
#1
Hi,
First of all let me thank you for working on this wonderful Emulator.Smile

I've got several questions about this new SonicStage option:

1.When you say SonicStage do you mean the eng v3.4 (http://sonicstage.uptodown.com/en ) or the jap v5.2 (http://www.sonyinsider.com/2009/06/24/so...ated-v5-2/ )?Huh
2.I just need to download and install it or I need to copy some file from it to jpcsp folder?
3. The name of eng version has later been changed to SonyConnect and the version number increased to 4.3.2(http://sonicstage.software.informer.com/ ), will this work too or I should stick to v3.4?

I'm not sure if the new one still has the "OpenMG" and wavewriter codecs, but that's pretty much all that's needed out of sonic stage "IF" you didn't want to fully install the software, you could always test it out the new version and let everyone know if it works..

as far as i know sony doesn't provide an official stand alone installer for the OpenMg codec so the only option is to fully install sonic stage (or let it download the files to the temp dir and copy out the openmg codec to manually install it), but that's more advanced and need to manually register some codecs like the wavewriter and you risk breaking things...

Actually, it seems Sony does provide just the OpenMG codec installation: http://www.sony-asia.com/support/downloa...age=detail

I've tested it and it does work for Atrac3+ playback. You can play Atrac3+ .oma files in any media player after installing the above codec. However, it doesn't seem to include the Sony wav writer needed by the command line version of HiMDRender used by Jpcsp. Sad The later GUI versions of HiMDRender work just fine with the above codec though, so I guess the later versions of HiMDRender don't use the Sony wav writer which probably causes some noise to play during the decoding process.

At the moment, installing SonicStage is really the easiest way to get everything working. I'm using SonicStage 4.3 English which I downloaded from: http://musicstore.connect.com/index.html

Damn the full installation of this SonicStage 4.3 is a 90 MB download to start with. I was trying to run Final Fantasy 1 but was not getting any audio (except sound effects). Is Sony wavewriter freeware or shareware? If freeware, any download link for it like the OpenMG codec posted above or is a full install the only option?
