JPCSP Launcher [v1.8.0.4]
(08-15-2011, 06:10 PM)Bloodsaw90 Wrote: First, thx to the program you have written!
Your launcher works quite fine for me, but i've got one little problem.
If i try to change some settings and save them i get the error message:
"Unable to write to:x:\xxx\xxx\jpcsp\JPCSPLauncher.ini"
Same message if i just try to end the program, seems that it automaticaly save the configs on exiting.

I am usin Windows XP Pro SP3 32bit.
The folder isnt write-protected just like the .ini file.
I already tried to use another partition and folder on another path.
I also tried to deactivate my antivirus and yes i have full administration rights on the user.
I also tried to delete the old file, and see that the program writes a new one, but always with different information in it, like its beeing interruptet while writing it.

Till now i have to end the programm via taskmanager.

Maybe u can find any solution to my problem.

Greetings

hm that's the first I've heard of this problem, sounds like something is locking the ini file causing it not to write.
what antivirus software do you use since some even though they are disabled still have their filesystem driver still enabled.
have you tried a shorter path like c:\jpcsp it could be a strange characters in the path causing an issue.

I have tested on windows XP pro sp3 32bit, I have even tested it on lan shares, usb, and removable hard drives to make sure it works on various situations, so a very strange problem.

is it the program that popups the message in the tray icon or is it an error window?

Guys, what is the optimal configuration of the JPCSP Launcher v1.6.0.1 based on my configuration? Right now using version x86 r2263. Thank you for your attention.

Code:
blacklynx, for you spec.
open Jpcsp launcher. click ADV
Tab Basic :
System Profile=>CPU SSE4.1+-4GB+Ram
Garbage Collector=>ConcMarkSweep
Tab Advanced Java :
change -XX:UseSSE:99 to -XX:UseSSE:4

Code:
Hreroth, what your proc?
if AMD then use
Tab Basic :
System Profile=>CPU SSE3-4GB+Ram
Garbage Collector=>ConcMarkSweep
Tab Advanced Java :
change -XX:UseSSE:99 to -XX:UseSSE:3
but if use Intel Core 2 Duo/Core 2 Quad use above.

Code:
Sarim, your proc?
Tab Basic :
System Profile=>Custom
Garbage Collector=>Default
Tab Advanced Java :
change -XX:UseSSE:99 to -XX:UseSSE:2
for Xss size & Xms size value maybe someone know with your only RAM 1GB.

Hyakki, for -XX:+UseSSE42Intrinsics is it only for Intel Core 2 Quad or can be use with AMD Phenom II X4?

I think only the I7 and I5 (or newer) support SSE 4.2.
as far as i know, no amd processors support it either.

Yep AMD's highest SSE is a small copy of SSE4 called SSE4a.

Hm its getting even stranger lol.
After reading your message i wanted to make a screenshot to show u how it looks like, but then the program closed normally and seems to have write the .ini sucessfully.
On the day i posted this i've tried to restart my pc three times, still having the problem, but now its gone and i am not able to reproduce the error.

Maybe was a temporaly problem of my OS.

Thanks anyway. Smile
