gpSP 0.9
#1
This homebrew application was tested on 4098f5d. JPCSP was able to load the application and display the Game Boy Advance BIOS (in a buggy manner), but soon froze afterwards. Games can actually be run on this application, albeit with slow speeds. The game Pokémon Emerald Version was used to test the functionality of gpSP on JPCSP (2nd - 5th Screenshot).

Is there any performance improvement with a011eec?

There is some performance improvement when using revision a011eec. OpenGL doesn't work with this homebrew as JPCSP will display a black screen. The emulator will crash when the option "Exit gpSP" is pressed, I'm not sure if this error could be fixable (Crash 1). After a certain point with playing a game on gpSP, JPCSP will crash with this on External Software Renderer (Crash 2):
Code:
Exception in thread "user_main"
Exception in thread "GUI"
Exception in thread "GUI"
The message is slightly different with OpenGL:
Code:
Exception in thread "AutoDetectJpcsp - ListenerThread"
Exception in thread "user_main"
Exception in thread "GUI"
Exception in thread "GUI"
The emulator becomes unresponsive and has to be closed through Task Manager. This crash can wipe out all JPCSP Settings.

When exiting the game (you will also see sceKernelExitGame in the log), Jpcsp just goes on "Pause" and stops running.
If you press "Run" again after that, you will get the errors you are showing. What were you expecting after pressing "Run" again? Restarting gpSP?

I thought that pressing that option would make gpSP go back to the directory where all the user's games are located. Using revision bbf6500 allows me to progress further in the game Pokémon Emerald Version as I can make the character move around and get into battles. The speed for Pokémon Emerald Version in gpSP can range between 2-16 FPS depending on the action (at least 20+ FPS when viewing Town Map). JPCSP still crashes with this homebrew when the user closes the emulator. This can appear in the console window when it crashes in-game (mostly appears in battle) and the user has to close the emulator through Task Manager:
Code:
Exception in thread "user_main"
Exception: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError thrown from the UncaughtExceptionHandler in thread "user_main"
Other messages from crashes include:
Code:
Exception in thread "user_main"
Exception in thread "GUI"
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0"
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0"

Could you try to increase the memory allocated to the Java virtual machine?
E.g. edit the start script start-windows-amd64.bat and change the option "-Xmx1024m" to "-Xmx2048m". Would it help?

I have tried increasing the -Xmx Size to 2048 MB and it does not help as the emulator still crashes after a certain point. Increasing the -Xmx Size to 3072 MB reduces the chances that messages such as "Exception in thread "GUI"" will appear in the console window. The user will need to save frequently in-game as the emulator will crash in a few minutes from this message:
Code:
Exception in thread "user_main"
Exception: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError thrown from the UncaughtExceptionHandler in thread "user_main"
