JPCSP Launcher [v1.8.0.4]
I don't give out any specific configurations since it might differ for each game / or cpu type, for example UseConcMarkSweepGC would help more with a dual/multi core cpu and have a worse impact on a single core cpu
so if you have a dual core cpu then UseConcMarkSweepGC is good to try (UseParNewGC is optional might get better results with it unchecked), MaxGCPauseMillis is another option to try out, it tells java to try and keep the GC pauses under this time limit (and java adjusts a bunch of internal settings accordingly to try and match the timeframe).

other then that you have to experiment with the options see if they help or make things worse, some games might need permgen space or the codecachesize increased ..etc

<beta version>
v1.4.0.6b [2-11-2011]
-Added a simple UMD browser, you can add all your "UMD Folders", and load a game directly into jpcsp from the launcher now.
[Note]
This is an experimental build and option, I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep this feature (depends if anyone likes it).
to-do
I might make the browser window resizable in the next version...but for now its fixed size,
The right click option "open" is also not working atm (not sure if I want a context menu so I left it dormant for now).

To use this feature click "UMD" in the launcher window, add some paths (Note: you can drag and drop folders to add them, or click add), in the umd browser double click on a filename you want to run in Jpcsp, if you close the Browser window and click "run" it will act like previous versions.

v1.4.0.7 [2-14-2011]
-Fixed up the UMD browser & removed context menu.
-Added option to load & run the game from the UMD browser. (Enabled by default)
-Fixed PATH bug where it would keep setting path on each run, now it only sets it once.
-Some code optimizations.

I'm trying out fate/extra at the moment. Not sure what the problem is exactly but i figured i'd just shoot in this thread.

I tried the game on my old desktop computer and the whole screen was black so its an obvious reason that the performance is just that bad.

So i tried later on my dell laptop which got the game to work. It was moving at 10~30 fps till i started a new game and once the loading icon spawned on the bottom right of the screen the fps just kinda died to 1-2 from 30 -_-

Is this natural? I see alot of posts on this thread saying slow but I'm not sure if they're slow generally or slow just when they're playing like me.

Can someone shed some light on my problem? My specs for the laptop are in between minimum and some at recommended. Only thing notable is that i only got 2 gigs of ram which is the lowest figure in addition to the graphic card compared to the minimum / recommended requirements i saw after browsing the web.

Oh and I'm asking because I've seen videos on youtube where they have like zero lag but when i try it my grandma moves faster.

A little off topic don't ya think?
Funny thing, I spend more time on the forum instead of on emulators Tongue

Its not like i know where to post it and im just placing it here because it might have been me messing up the launcher settings to cause this.

It could be the launcher, the emulator or my computer. I just need to know which and hoped I'd at least get to cancel one out here.

You could always press the default button on the launcher's advance settings. That would cancel out one of the possible causes of your situation.
