Okay, so I followed this youtube video tutorial, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lbZhtfLxNA
and went and did the configuration settings like he said (except for the SonicStage one, where a user commented on the video page saying it's overrun with hackers, and shouldn't be installed).
The game I am using is Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, and first thing, there is no background music. Do I have to install SonicStage to get music?
Another thing is that it runs extremely slowly, which I guess is caused by the settings I was told to configure. I'm guessing nothing can be done about this?
Biggest problem, and this might just be for games with 2D sprites, but there is glitchy-as-fuck sprites for the characters. The rest of the game is mostly okay, but the animated sprite models remain extremely glitchy all the time, with very distorted graphical glitches. Not sure which video setting has caused this, or if this is a video setting at all? Maybe it's a graphic card problem? Maybe I should be using 32 bit instead of 64 bit? I don't know what it is.
Well I did write a decent sized post about stuff relevant to the topic but it got detected as spam. check http://www.emunewz.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=14984 it has a (probable safe) link to SonicStage if you don't mind InstallM.
Okay so SonicStage IS needed for all sound? That's what I wanted to know. But I told you: the site you download it from is overrun with hackers, I am told. It is no longer safe to download SonicStage.
I just need to know why the graphics are messed up, and what I can do to fix that, and speed the emulator up. It is looking to me like the emulator is going to be slow no matter what.

I tried looking at my graphics card, but didn't find any conclusions. I have the necessary system requirments (JRE 7, 64-bit, proper dual processor, RAM, and graphics card, etc.). So, my first guess was the settings, but I can't tell what are the right and wrong settings. I'm assuming you're referring to the video options in configuration, right? "Use Software Rendering?" I hope you're not referring to that, because I can't even start a game without checking that off.
I believe have the most up-to-date version. These are my settings....

-Use shaders
-Enable saving GE screen to textures ...
-Enable dynamic shader generation...
If you still have glitches, try enabling the other settings (but software rendering) one by one.
And as I expected, it won't even start the game. This is what I get...
It won't even start the game if I don't check "Software Rendering." Maybe I have discovered a new bug. Version 07. It forces me to use "Software Rendering." And when I do, I get this...
