was it working before the java update? i'm using the latest java and it works fine
here are some things you can try
1. Delete JPCSPLauncher.ini if its present
2. Temporarily disable antivirus software or add an exception
3. Try to run it as an administrator or adjust UAC
4. Check windows event viewer (Control panel -> Administrative tools -> Event viewer) and see if it gives a better reason for the crash

Can't say, as I began using JPCSP and this launcher after the update.

1. No JPCSPLauncher.ini as far as I see.
2. Tried it. Disabled avast! anti-virus, and also added it as an exception.
3. Still stops working.
4. Checking.... here's what info I can provide via that:

Quote:Faulting application JPCSP.exe, version 1.3.0.4, time stamp 0x4cc791b4, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00380306, process id 0x13c0, application start time 0x01cb850d5d936100.

If it's of any use, I found that recently I was able to double-click on a .jar file and have it open properly (previously it would come up with a dialog box about how Windows could not open it, and it wouldn't matter if I set the correct program) and when that Java update happened it reverted back to not being able to be opened that way, and I'd either need a batch file or go through the cmd. Oh and even when it was set to open via Java™ Platform SE binary, I'd then get an error about not being able to find the "main class".

That's a pretty generic error, you can always start jpcsp through the bat file "start-windows-x86.bat" if that doesn't work then it's something else that's wrong with the java install or the jpcsp build (make sure you get the builds off the build bot)

True, I am able to start it via the batch file. I had just hoped to use some of the features the launcher had.

I have the same problem as Cloud_S and I'm running Win7Pro x64. I've run 1.3.0.2-1.3.0.4 and all of them crash. disabling my AV(Norton antivirus 2011) and FW (Comodo 5) doesn't make a difference.
Here's Windows Events:

Using Compatibly Settings such as 'run as admin', XPSP2/XPSP3 mode, Vista/VistaSP1/VistaSP2 mode or any other setting is also useless.Sad

I'll look into it, but that's strange since I also use windows 7 x64 and it works fine, What software did you use to extract the zip file windows built in zip can sometimes corrupt files on certain zip files.

Do you have any kind of debugger software running? also what kind of CPU do you have since I could only test with Intel CPU's Exception 0xc0000005 could mean anything from DEP blocking to bad ram.

I've used WinRAR 3.93 x64 and 7-zip 9.20 x64 for extracting it.
Here's my specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
RAM: Crucial 4GB DDR3 1333
MB: Asus P5QC (Bios@2103)
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD 4850 512MB

And I don't think I've got a hardware issue because I haven't changed my hardware setting in BIOS (Overvolting/Overclocking) or in Windows for over a year, besides I can play games like Starcraft II or Civ5 (@ High/1920x1080 settings) for hours without any problems and Encoding several 720p Movies in succession using X264 under 'Slower' preset isn't any problem either(which takes several hours of 99% CPU usage).

Edit: I just tried to extract the zip file using Windows and the result was same.Huh

Edit: No, I don't have any kind of debugger software.
