Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection - ULUS10560
hyakki
Add the patch in the next revision, check the updated "*. Jar" everything works fine.
Settings are not changed for the other games.

What would then like me, did not appear in the forum and did not ask the same questions again.

I will do it this one time, future versions you will have to patch yourself Smile
(just because I don't want a bunch of modified jpcsp's floating around, it's better when people stick with the buildbot)

Please forgive me for being kind of confused here. I recently had the urge to play this game and I had the same text issues and found this thread. I messed around with some settings in r2490. I had Color Mask chosen and everything was fine except for the menu overlaps didn't look so good but everything else worked great. I saved in game and afterwards made a save state. I changed the options to Stencil Test only and some window boxes wouldn't load so I went back to Color Mask because I could deal with the menus overlapping and it didn't matter if I used a save state or loaded the in game save, the window boxes just would not come back. I've restarted the game more than once and it just isn't working like it was before.

So I came back here today and see some people have gotten it working but I don't understand just what I'm supposed to do. hyakki provided a r2788 .jar file but what exactly do I do with that? I got JPCSP r2788 but replacing that version's jpcsp.jar file with hyakki's doesn't let the game load past the intro movie for me. I don't know what I'm missing or what exactly I need to do with that file. I tried hyakki's and Damphil's video configurations and had the same problem with both.

The cmd.exe window says: Exception in thread "GUI" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no xuggle-ferry in java.library.path and then a bunch of other errors after that. This only happens when I use hyakki's jpcsp.jar file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sorry I forgot to mention the jar I uploaded is only the 64bit build, I don't think it will work on 32bit builds (or more specifically the media engine breaks),
(the source patch will still work but you would need to patch and compile it to the 32bit build)

Yup, your *.jar dont work on emul x32(x86).

Okay, you use java x32 and emul too.
It is possible to display the text without the patch.
To do this, turn "ON" the video settings - Use Software Rendering.
Оne minus - in the game during the battles will not be rear-view pictures. Characters, damage, attack, and all skills can be seen - and on what battle, black screen.

Yup its help ^_^. but not good for normal play. Click - click - click option..not exit.

And, how you patched, for new revision ?

Like this:
1. Download and install TortoiseSVN; maybe you will need to reboot the OS; do it if ask.
2. Create a folder on a easy access patch, call it like you want.
3. Right click on the new create folder and select Tortoise->Download SVN: A box will open, paste the SVN from JPCSP and hit DOWNLOAD.
4. Download and install Eclipse.
5. Once the SVN finish to be downloaded, import it on Eclipse: File->Import: Existing Projects into Workspace. Locate the folder where it is.
6. Do the changes gid15 told you.
7. To test it go to "jpcsp.MainGUI", right-click "Run As.." -> "Java Application". To run it, you must add the VM arguments according the version of JPCSP you will like to test. (x86, x64)
8. Told us the results.

I am running a 32bit build as you suspected, hyakki, and I'm willing to try to patch it on my own, but I'm having some difficulty. When I try using Tortoise to import from http://jpcsp.googlecode.com/svn/trunk it says: Server sent unexpected return value (405 Method Not Allowed) in response to MKACTIVITY request for '/svn/!svn/act/c71f6613-dfca-ef45-9528-3d17266bf102'. I have no idea what that means or how to fix it. Once again, any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Looking online it seems that I needed to change the default URL from http to https (like anyone could have figured that out on their own) but now it asks me for a username and password. Am I even on the right track? If I am, do I download from https://jpcsp.googlecode.com/svn/trunk or a different directory? And, regardless of where I download from, will that download work for r2788?

I figured out what the problem was, got as far as importing using Eclipse then I don't quite know what to do. I put the stencilfix.patch file into the folder where I downloaded the SVN using TortoiseSVN and I can apply the patch but I don't know what to do after that...assuming that's even what I'm supposed to do. The SVN that gets downloaded from http://jpcsp.googlecode.com/svn/trunk is r2810 I think so I don't even know if that version will work or how I'm supposed to take what I do and somehow apply it to r2788. I feel like I'm on the home stretch of getting this to work for me so yeah, some clear guidance on how to finish this up would be most appreciated.

sorry I don't use TortoiseSVN so I don't know much about it, look for a tool to apply a diff / patch file (or you can just modify the file(s) manually according to the patch. - removes a line, + adds a line)
found this looking at the docs
Code:
http://tortoisesvn.net/docs/release/TortoiseSVN_en/tsvn-dug-patch.html
Alternatively, if the patch file has a .patch or .diff extension, you can right click on it directly and select TortoiseSVN → Apply Patch.... In this case you will be prompted to enter a working copy location.
These two methods just offer different ways of doing the same thing. With the first method you select the WC and browse to the patch file. With the second you select the patch file and browse to the WC.
Once you have selected the patch file and working copy location, TortoiseMerge runs to merge the changes from the patch file with your working copy. A small window lists the files which have been changed. Double click on each one in turn, review the changes and save the merged files.

Or you might just want to hold off for a few more days/weeks, a new official fix from the devs (that's better then my patch) might be just around the corner if all goes well.

This stencil fix is now available in r2814. Thank you for your help, Hyakki, in pre-testing this change!
Always include a complete log file at INFO level in your reports. Thanks! How to post a log

I am not sure what exactly is supposed to be fixed ( can somebody elaborate ? ) but game still cant be played with saving ge screens enabled at the same time as stencil patch or color mask.

You don't need to enable 'stencil test' or 'color mask' anymore with that change (resulting in speedups), the dialog text and battle menus will work fine without those options now, and you can use Save GE screen to textures if you want..
