In battles, the speed is good. The main issue is that the speed is not stable and the emulator doesn't actually show the real FPS (it stays at 30 FPS pretty much all the time except for loading screens). Sometimes the combats will go a bit faster or a bit slower than normal, but only the video lags, not the sound so at least your ears don't bleed.

Overall it's a decent enough experience compared to playing on console.

ah this is an interesting and complete report! i may be using NPUB31133 version but i'm experiencing the same things on just the prologue... including the blurred skits and battles. what i haven't tried was limiting fps though. but to also be on the safe side, would it be okay for you to upload a pic of your settings? i'm very very sure that i am just a step away from solving my freezing problem. xd.

lastly... that pic of asbel, did you have an alternate costume of him or was that dlc? you also willing to share your save file?

That Asbel costume is from the magic carta mini-game, not sure if DLC works.

With build 5479 don't have Strict rendering mode option, but when it is set in options to true it works. For me main problem here is that fps in battles have to be set to 60 and for rest gameplay to 30. Auto set 60FPS every time.

30 FPS limit works fine for battles for me.

thanks. i'll see what i can do with this. clearly your graphics card is better than mine, but hopefully it won't be an issue. we're also using different version games... which is annoying as i had this same version the BLU one but deleted it months back.

just to be super clear, this is the 5479 build, right?

Hi. To bump up my earlier post. I finally have the game working now. Thanks a bunch for all the advice. Although I did try an even earlier RPCS3. Even earlier than the version you suggested but had the Strict Rendering mode. I was surprised the RPCS3 team had it then removed it and then put it back...

Anyway this was the version I used.

Vulkan, Recompiler X2, Strict Rendering, GPU Texture,

Aspect Ratio and Frame limit on Auto

jazjaz36, frame limit auto works for you on this version? I got double speed everywhere but battles.

I have been playing more than an hour and i have no complaints so far. maybe your graphics card plays a part too? I use intel you see.
