I Had an Athlon 64 X2 processor and I upgraded to a Phenom II 955 black Edition X4 and now I can run the launcher.
Before no matter what i tried it would crash and give the Vista error when Vista is incapable of launching a program so it crashes.
So maybe you need a Triple Core or better to use the launcher?
Hmm, I have a Athlon 64 X2 processor and it works for me, so I doubt this is the problem but good for you it works now!
