Disgaea 4 [BLUS30727]
#31
I just used it and there is no real improvements.
~18 fps in town, between 18 to 30 fps in battles.

Well it was worth a shot. I think Ryzen is so fast that the speedhack doesn't matter, your CPU keeps up anyway. You should still notice lower CPU usage however.
Asus N55SF, i7-2670QM (~2,8 ghz under typical load), GeForce GT 555M (only OpenGL)

CPU usage is like 20%

Game working perfectly. Hitting 60 FPS straight in all areas and only using 20% CPU after speed patch.

Hi, I've been trying this version of Disgaea and occasionally get some errors.

Game works flawlesly 70% of the time. Issues only happen when using Recompiler(ASMJIT) as SPU decoder. Also, I mostly tested using the Recompiler (LLVM) as PPU Decoder (and Vulkan, plus the speed patch to use it). I Played around with the SPU threading options (Bind SPU threads... lower priority...) which seem to increase fps a tiny bit.

----error with threaded spu option:

----occasional error during first loading (prinny never stops dancing):

All the errors seem related to sound. They all dissapear if I change to Interpreters for sound (either fast or precise), but I lose a 5-7fps if I use those (I wouldn't mind sticking to those but the sounds goes weird, like it's in slow motion, even when the gameplay fps stays 40-50fps+). Also, despite the save warning, the game seems to save and load properly.

I use a desktop PC with an Intel I3 (one of the late ones), 6gb ram, NVIDIA GTX970. RPCS3 version: 0.0.2-5275-69c46213

**Clarification: The errors happen even when using the Interpreter for spu, but it happens much less often. (the last error, which happens when first loading, does seem to vanish I think, but I'll keep testing/playing, lol)

Looks like random crashes, those lines don't say anything special apart from DEADLK on rwlock

ps3
The first post settings didnt work for me, more libraries were needed and the solution was actually simple.

Core:
PPU - LLVM
SPU - ASMJIT
Load Librarys - Auto(Works better then picking imo)
No other options enabled

Graphics:
Render - Vulkan
Resolution - 1080p
Graphics Device - GeForce GTX 1080
Aspect - 16:9
Frame Limit - 30(Constant. choosing 60 keeps frames from 45-60 not a good thing.)
Main Options - Use GPU texture scaling
No other options enabled

Conclusion: (No other options besides input was non-default)
Game runs at 1080p constant 30fps with no crashes for hours at a time. Only issue i have is that the background is flashy at the start menu otherwise perfect gameplay. Only drops in fps are after saving, it cuts fps in half for half a second.

My PC:
Intel Core i7-4770k @ 3.50GHz (Old i know)
Geforce GTX 1080 Founders (under performes to other newer 1080s)
32GB DDR3 2400 MHz
Samsung SSD 850 EVO

Hello, I am a newcomer, this is my first post:

I have been trying to get Disgaea 4 to run, and have been reading several forums regarding others successes and failures. I have made some progress (feels like) in that I am now to a "white screen" when booting. I don't know if my issue is in my use and understanding of directories in rpcs3 or if I need to tweak my configuration. I have noticed a pattern of "sys_mutex_lock / unlock" , but unfortunately I do not know what that is a symptom of.

My log is attached below. If anyone can help me understand more about it, or aid in my specific case, it is much appreciated.

I'm using Vulkan.
