STAR OCEAN: First Departure - ULUS10374
This game is best played with software render-characters will show up in towns, and its faster on world map then it is when using "color mask" ( which is required if not using software render )
I get only 15 fps with color mask on,and 30 fps with software on world map
Still, whatever you use, game needs 64-bit version of jpcsp or it will freeze when entering towns

Not really important since I have 64bit windows and I recommend anyone to upgrade to 64bit if they havent done so already, because its better Smile

i recently tried to upgrade, but quickly found myself returning to 32 bit since a lot of tools i use are 16 bit (both programs and actual physical tools like a scanner), so they're incompatible with 64 bit systems (scanner's physically unable to run with anything but 16 bit drivers, and i won't be getting a new one anytime soon, especially since this one's still in good condition after almost 10 years).

good thing i went with a dual boot and kept my xp on another partition.

I dont see why anyone wouldn't be able to upgrade to 64 bit, unless using hardware which needs 16 bit like serio.
Even in that case, you can always dual boot if you are unwilling to get rid of the hardware

sum2012 (or whoever was asking), This game and the sequel, only work correctly in 64bit jpcsp, 32bit causes the sprites to get misaligned and also characters fall through map, software render has some bugs where certain graphical effects cause the screen to go black and the only way to restore is to restart the emulator.

Offtopic:
64bit is great, I don't think I could go back to 32bit.

for 32/16 bit applications I have a 32bit xp virtualbox setup and it can run all the 16bit apps I want, (microsoft also has "XP mode" on windows 7 where you install windows xp, basically the same as virtualbox though, just ms software virtual pc)).
I'm not sure if it can directly communicate with hardware such as a scanner but it might be-able to (or vmware might work better for something like that)..if you have the means you could just setup a pc from spare parts and use it only for the scanner (I have something like this setup for the old psxdev environment with the isa slot pc-comms link, windows 98..etc :p)
