r2920
videos are playing a 29~30 fps but still fall out of sync (on the intro movie audio is playing about 1 second faster then the movie.), I suspect short movies will be ok since the desync doesn't happen for awhile.

The same fix is now also available for scePsmfPlayer in r2921.
Code:
13:35:38 INFO hle.scePsmfPlayer - MyThread-MovieStart - PSMF Player Data: displayBuffer=0x09452020, displayBufferSize=0x300000, playbackThreadPriority=42
13:35:38 INFO hle.scePsmfPlayer - MyThread-MovieStart - 'disc0:/PSP_GAME/USRDIR/movie/FF4TA_DEMO.pmf' PSMF file loaded.
Always include a complete log file at INFO level in your reports. Thanks! How to post a log

r2927
excellent fix, the movie is now playing perfect
Following some suggestions in this thread, I have my video settings setup so that the only things checked are:
Use vertice cache
Use shaders (experimental)
Use a Geometry Shader for 2D rendering (only relevant when using shaders)
Enable saving GE screen to Textures instead of Memory
Enable decoding of indexed Textures (using CLUT) in shader (only revelant when using shaders)
Enable dynamic shader generation (only relevant when using shaders, reccommended for AMD/ATI)
I found that with these settings the boss shatter turns into a black screen but takes far less time (maybe 10 sec or less) to transition into battle than it did before - dropping to 15 fps instead of 9 or less. Thunder spells still take a bit if it's multiple enemies but not too bad.
I followed some of the information posted at the beginning f this thread, and got the game to display correctly. This thread is simply too long however for me to sift through and find out if there are other fixes, so I'm hoping it's an easy fix and someone has the solution off the top of their head.
FYI- I am NOT a programmer, and do not know JAVA, so telling me anything that has to do with that probably won't help a whole lot.
Finally, the issue,
The FPS is slow (I can live with that)
Battlebacks are partially black
Some effects are not showing up
and text boxes do not display the dialogue

*edit*
Nevermind! I got the sound to work, everything works great!
I can deal with the minor issues, I have no problems with them and can patiently wait for them to be worked out. My computer is just powerful enough to play at a solid frame rate most of the time and I'm happy with that.

Having a couple issues so far. The worst being that the cursor isn't showing up in menus, making them an extreme pain to navigate. Anyone have a solution for this? And the other is black boxes where characters are standing. Is anyone NOT having these issues? Would love any help.
