To everyone that's saying you need version 2490 for this to work, would any of you happen to have a link to it? I looked on Orphis but they don't store builds back that far.

I think you mean 2957 (as commented before, it was mistaken with 2927 in the main page).
So here is it, you can find it (and other builds) on the official jpcsp.org, just switch between the pages.

And also, r2957 was the lastest stable version that I have tested so far.

But r3090 or above maybe able to save. Since my internet connection and my time is limited (and also my hard drive xD), I suggest that someone please test and post the results if the game's saving could work on those builds.

I'll try that but I've seen multiple posts saying to use r2490 which doesn't seem to be available on jpcsp.org. the have 2497 and 2486 but not 2490

save doesnt work, slowdowns, ultraslow lightning spell effects, ultraslow boss battle transition... sigh, only if someone would fix up ppsspp to run this :/

The save was broken by build 3099 and despite all the efforts of the developers wasn't entirely fixed in build 3100 and 3101, so downgrade to 3098 and don't upgrade again regardless of how many new builds appear on orphis buildbot as long as there is no reference to SAVEDATA in the newer builds description.
Fortunately, if it happened like in my case then most likely your game save completed successfully, but the emulator stopped with error immediately afterwards. Downgrading while keeping the SAVEDATA might allow you resume the game play from the last save including that one with the emulator stop error, of course if have a bit of luck.

Of course, I agree with you about PPSSPP, it's so not fair that we are cursed to use an emulator with a processing performance around 10-15% to play this game while PPSSPP is already at a decent 45-50%, I think.
They say Java has improved in terms of performance and this allowed JPCSP creation as stated on JPCSP official website, but I think the main reason is that a PSP is not a very powerful processing device.
I always thought about Java as being slow and still think despite everything is being said about JPCSP because of these benchmarks:
1. JPCSP uses around 10 times more RAM than PPSSPP on Windows XP SP3 while the same game is running;
2. I barely get 45-50 FPS on a certain game with CPU at 100% usage in JPCSP while the same game uses 30-40% CPU with 60 FPS on PPSSPP.

Because no one post sceUtility debug log for r3098 and r3101 for developer to fix the save issue

The SAVEDATA issue is fixed in build 3107.

Ok, wait a second here. Cursed?
I'm really not understanding all this JPCSP vs. PPSSPP thing anymore.
Those regressions on SAVEDATA were caused by new findings on a real PSP, but not all games work in the same way. It's not easy to implement new discoveries without report logs and tests. I've only managed to properly implement this after several logs were posted reporting the new error.

Now something a bit off-topic, but necessary to post.
JPCSP was created to prove that you could make a decent emulator for a recent gaming platform using Java. It's original goal was to be a debugging utility for developers, not a full emulator to run games.
There's no point on comparing the two emulators because an emulator coded in C/C++ WILL always be faster than JPCSP. We keep working on this project mostly for investigational purposes.
In a near future it's pretty obvious that PPSSPP will be the emulator of choice for the regular user, but it somewhat saddens me that people will pretty much drop JPCSP and forget all the work that was done to reverse engineer the PSP. Honestly, gid alone managed to find, test and implement features that were pretty much undocumented before.

JPCSP is now the most accurate documentation of the PSP system and if you check PPSSPP's commits you will see a lot of code based on it.
Don't get me wrong, PPSSPP has great coders behind it (Henrik, [UNKNOWN], tpunix, just to state a few), but it's also open-source.
A lot of the fast progress of PPSSPP is due to JPCSP's findings (e.g.: In https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/blob/...Font/PGF.h the comment clearly states that it was ported from JPCSP's PGF, which was reversed by gid).

Since both projects are open-source there's nothing wrong in having both projects exchanging code, but it's not really fair to have people comparing them. At least not in this way.

Off-topic:You're right Hykem,in jpcsp there is more work on it since it aims to emulate as acurate as possible the psp behavior.I don't think people will forget jpcsp that easily as more and more use it.Comparing ppsspp to jpcsp is like.....comparing 2 different puppets:Maybe one looks cooler but the other is more real.As time passes I will still use jpcsp because of the hard work done in it and the fact that is an unique emulator,I mean,did you ever see an emulator written in java?
Cursed emu?Why?Just because your pc can't play it as fast as ppsspp it isn't cursed,anyway if you don't like using this emu then why are you still using it?You know what,my pc can't run psp games with jpcsp at 10 fps and I'm not complainig over jpcsp,the faulty one is my computer.
On-topic:Also as here is the jpcsp forum we must talk mostly of it,ppsspp also has a forum so if you want to post opinions or something post it there
