Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep - US - ULUS10505
Hi!
I have a problem the game stops after talking for the first time with snow white, the error printed in the console is : "java.lang.runtimeexception: cannot find executable"( I get the same error if I open a box in the mine).
I tried with versions:1980, 2150,2239,2463,2492,2021.

I had also another problem. Now it works(i don't know why) but using the fever pitch caused the game to crash(the error was "array index out of bounds" or something like that)

the computer:
-windows xp sp3
-intel core duo CPU T7700 2.4Ghz, 2Gb RAM
-nvidia geforce 8400m gs

All the posts here helped me a lot and i literally went through this entire thread. I ended up with the issue of the black screen right after the scene where aqua hands you the star necklace. Here is a save file at the first save point.

This could just be a band-aid so don't get your hopes up. I haven't played much passed this. Read this thread if you have an issue and stop posting. If you have a unique issue after reading, then post.

Sadly I do as well. Ati card here and I've tried almost every option on/off with no fix. I even tried software emulation and there was no change. I do have good news for you though.

I've found that it happens whenever I'm about to receive an item after a cut scene such as a keyblade. I have a fix for you that will allow you to keep going, but its not a good one. Before the cut scene ends, just as its fading to black and you can see still see the scene, save snapshot.

Now close the emulator and open it up again. Load the game and when you see the disney logo (after you press ok to the red box that pops up) press load snapshot. It may take 2-3 times but you will have wierd textures and possibly no sound and you will recieve the items and be able to keep going. Now save and load back up and your all set.

Sadly I have to do this a lot but it works and its worth it to be able to play this game on a big screen with a controller.

edit- I'd like to also add that for scenes where you get an item and then the screen turns black before you get the second item (usually a keyblade) you can just save snapshot before you press ok to the first item and load back up. This will let you continue on as well.

Sorry for double posting but it is relevant. I was able to play the game till Neverland after the first fight with my bandaid fix above, but the game would just crash and there was no way to fix it at neverland.

Heres the great/amazing news. I was using the latest build and I was using 64-bit when these black screen things were happening. For some reason you cannot do that. You need to download rev 2238 32-bit and use that. The game is working for me after adding my personal settings into the launcher/options. I'll give some info on myself for anyone elses future reference for whatever reason.

I have a q6600 quad core (3.00 clock), ati hd 4870, and 8 gigs of ram.
Windows 7 64-bit

+For the launcher the only things I changed was....
-Xss Size 256kb
-Java priority high
-rescodecachesize 128
-maxpermsize 235 (i couldnt go higher or it would not open. I think it has to do with 32 bit)
-useSSe 3 (this is processor specific, just because mine can use 3 doesn't mean yours can.)
-I did not change the xmx size from 1024 because I could only get it as high as like 1100 before it wouldnt open (Again, I think thats 32 bit specific because my 64 bit one could take 4000)

For Jpcsp settings, you're on your own. Test what works for you through trial and error. I will tell you what I suggest for compiler and crypto (they could be mandatory)

+Compiler
-use compiler
-method size 50 or 100. (any more than that and menus start getting a blue tint, da fucks up with that =D )

+Crypto
-Extract decrypted EBOOT.ini
-Handle savedata in crypto mode

My game is at playable average speeds of 22 fps and almost perfect cutscenes with minor graphical glitches. Happy playing

If you reread what I typed you'll see that I keep reffering to it being my settings and my computer and for the person to do most things regarding their system. I know for a fact though that changeing to that build will stop the black screen problems that people get during the tutorial/killing a boss.
