no longer gets the "java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException" as often
after selecting new game at the menu it just has a black screen , but if you wait a few minutes a image appears and you can hear some speech, keep pressing the O button and you can hear more voices (almost like playing the game) just no display and some images appear after awhile (attached screenshots took about 20-30 minutes of waiting)
viewport is still messed up // different sizes (attached screens)
In r1945 the game is still a bit slow and music is missing, but everithing works fine more or less until Freya restores Lenneth's powers in the first scene (which is unskipable). The emulation doesn't freeze, but appears stuck.
My guess is emulator is trying to decode the sound effect, but is missing the decoder at the current stage and gets stuck in the infinite loop.

are you using the US version? mine crashes or locks at the same point, but the graphics in my game aren't in proportion like your screenshot (I also noticed it said midgardo in your ss)

I'm using US version of the game with r1945 (Ignore invalid memory access and umapped imports, Use media engine and decode with SonicStage) and your launcher 1.4.0.3 (MaxPermSize 128 MB).
About 80% of a time I get the same as you - unfinished rendering on title screen and black screen right after. But sometimes (usually when I skip company logos quick enough) title screen will render fully with all fonts properly displayed and difficulty screen will actually be visible. The fist scene will then start as "normal" with music missing and "streaming" text glitching a bit. Once you reach a point where Freya restores Lenneth's powers, the scene will get stuck.
Logger shows countless "sceAudioOutputPlannedBlocking delaying current thread" at that point so my guess is the problem lies with the audio decoder.

when "only GE" unchecked the graphics display near perfect everything fits in the viewport, but sometimes trying to get to the game menu throws this error (about 90% of the time)

(and this error breaks all 3d output afterwards)
sometimes it doesn't get that error and you can start the game, i had made it all the way to the 3d map but then it crashed with another error (but i forgot to save the log..but i did make screenshots, now i'm having trouble getting past the error above again so i can't make a proper log for the second error)
Edit attached second log to post, unfortunately this one crashed with an out of memory error, but it made it pretty far into the game...still not far enough to reach a save point., going to retry one more time this time with vertex cache disabled.
some other bugs
Movies are broken (if i recall right there should be a movie of a big door opening when going in where odin is in the intro, just shows a black screen in jpcsp (with or without "only GE")
Text has problems when on the 3d map. (doesn't show)
Voice works but bgm doesn't (will have to see what format the bgm is in).
To get to the 3d map you have to disable the media engine since the movie it's supposed to play breaks it (doesn't play anyways with the media engine).

Game no longer crashes at the menu, after selecting new game and watching the 20 minute intro -> it gets to the game map (media engine must be disabled to make it this far, or it will crash when Odin finishes talking to you) -> after the 1 min cut-scene (will be a black screen in jpcsp, sometimes this cutscene will crash jpcsp so if its black for more then a few minutes it most likely got some error), after that some more dialog, then when you can press the "select button" the camera starts to rotate and this is where jpcsp/java gets an error (id say its only about 10 minutes away from the first save point)
i tried getting past this point with all options enabled / disabled and it still crashes.

some really good progress on this game
made it all the way to the save dialog ...but .. jpcsp froze when loading the dialog window (last picture):X
this dialog problem happens in this game randomly (can reproduce it at the game menu when trying to load also 70% chance it will freeze up)
attached info log from start of game till where it tried to save, (disabled sceaudio in log output to stop looping sceaudio msgs, everything else is checked though in custom log)
going to attempt and get this to save again when i get some free time but right now i cant sit through another 30 minute intro, ill attach the save once i get it.
other bugs
videos still aren't visible
intro / first menu is messed up - once in game the graphics get in correct proportion
fonts on world map are messed up (but others look decent/ok)
