FPS issue, and controller support?

I can't seem to map the buttons for the controller. I go into the settings in input/out, and change to dualshock 4, but doesn't seem to do anything nor the other settings. So I'm not sure what to do with that.

And the game is running slow. The fps is bad, and no change of the settings in gpu seems to help. I run games just fine on everything else so.
