I was just curious thinking about the soon to be introduced low level apis namely, AMD Mantle and Directx 12. Will these aid the ps3 emulation process in any way or enable the devs to start making a ps4 or xbone emulator, as both 'next-gen' consoles have an x86 architecture and MS has already show forza 5 running on a pc at 60 fps on dx 12 (not going to realease it on pc, though).
Thanks in advance

PC1: Pentium G2020, ASUS Radeon R9 290X, 6GB DDR3, Win 10
PC2: i7-6700HQ, GTX 960M+HD 530, 8GB DDR4, Win 10

I am working on a PS4 emulator/VM, but very little can be added to it at this point (working on a VM-like translator for opcodes from Bochs now):

Mantle will used to compliment DX and/or OpenGL since it's primarily Windows targeted only. The GPU is not going to be a big deal to emulate, fortunately, but the only thing that will be committed is just a semi-altered Bochs x86 with 8-cores and a few tweaks.

I don't have it, but I know a licensed PS4 publisher who will give me temporary access. Basically, the PS4's development tools are not that advanced. Sharing the SDK and other development info is illegal in this case, so I won't be posting it.

I didn't see any justification for "The GPU is not going to be a big deal to emulate, fortunately", you merely said you "will [be given] me temporary access" to the SDK.
How about you stop bullshitting or actually provide some believable info that you aren't bullshitting.

I am grateful that you guys took the time to comment on my post, but my question somewhat stands; will low level apis ( Mantle and DX12 ) speed up or aid ps3 emulation, or make next gen console emulation possible?
I apologise if this question seems stupid, but please learned ones, feed my curiosity.

If you want my informed opinion (based on the fact that neither is publicly available), it's that I don't know and if anyone tells you he "knows" then he's most likely lying or telling you half-truths.

And again, OpenGL's MDI/(sparse) texture arrays/bindless resources do more than enough for an emulator, while remaining cross platform
